With the aid of supply chain management, the effectiveness and efficiency of the value added processes along the entire supply chain should be sustainably improved. By implementing specific strategic and operative measures, it is possible to improve the performance of production and logistics processes in an outstanding manner. The effectiveness of value added management in a supply chain is strongly influenced by embedded resources, whereas efficiency is affected by the method of manipulating the linked processes in and between the participating enterprises.
